John P. Hayes

John Patrick Hayes, age 75, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023.  Born in Joliet, IL on March 17, 1948 to John D. Hayes and Adeline (Brown) Hayes, "Pat" was the only son among eight children. He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1966 and Lewis University in 1970. John served in the United States Air Force as a radio relay equipment repairman during the height of the Vietnam War, from 1970 to 1974. He worked for GTE Corporation, AT&T, and the USPS throughout his career.  John was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife of 37 years, seven sisters, one aunt and uncle, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.  Interment with full military honors will be conducted at 10:00 AM on July 18, 2024 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL.
