Helen Slivinski

May the long time sun shine upon you;  All love surround you;

And the pure light within you … guide your way on.

HELEN SLIVINSKI (nee Kaspar) of Oak Park, IL (formerly of Berwyn, IL) passed away peacefully on January 4, 2019.  She was 89 years old.  Helen was the loving wife of Paul Slivinski (who passed away on October 15, 2018) for 62 years; the beloved mother of Annie Slivinski, Lucy Slivinski, and David Slivinski; and grandmother to Theo Glaser, Vanessa Slivinski, Kindra Slivinski, and Matthew Slivinski.  Helen was a lifelong learner and educator.  She retired as a librarian from Brookpark School in LaGrange Park and afterward volunteered for many years as a cluster tutor in the Austin neighborhood.  Helen was a member of the Third Unitarian Church where she participated on their educational scholarship committee.  Helen was a longtime member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization where she continued her support of educational scholarship for young people.  Helen was an accomplished artist and a dear friend.
