Gary's union with his First Love Phyllis Clay gave birth to their Eldest Son Gary Varnell Clay

Gary was blessed to find love a second time later in life with Dorothy Ben. Their union gave birth to Son Mason Ben and Daughter Brittany Ben

Gary was proceeded in death by his Father William Craig Jr., his Mother Mable Alberta Higgins, Brother Clarence Craig, Aunt Betty Jean Stewart, Uncle Joe Neal Higgins and Aunt Caratha Briggs,

Gary also leaves to cherish his memory his Grandchildren Brittany Clay, Alysia Perry, Malik Clay, and Gary Clay II, a Great Grandchild Khi Panatsis and a host of family and friends

Gary had the gift for gab. Gary loved joking, laughing, and debating with family members on the current news of the day. Gary also love to travel his neighborhood engaging in conversation with friends and strangers alike; but where you would find him most was laying on the couch watching law and order and sports. Watching sports with his mother was a favorite past time.

Rest in Peace Tenny. You will be missed

I'm free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God has chosen for me. I took his hand, when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I have laughed and loved and cried along the way; but now I've found peace, at the end of the day. Peace in my heart and peace in my soul, peace I wish for you, when your story's told. My life has been full, I've savored much, had good times had bad times battled demons and such. I've made some mistakes, I'm imperfect you see; but God has lifted my burdens and forgiven me. I love you all, there's no need for sorrow, only remember the joy and laughs we shared with the new day tomorrow. So lift up your hearts and have peace with thee, be happy for me God set me free.

Prayer

Dear lord please embrace your faithful servant and carry him home. He is worthy of your love and grace. Although it pains us to say goodbye and our wish would have been to have had more time with our beloved, we take comfort that he is home with his farther where there is no pain and only joy and love. He can now look down and take pride in the love seeds he planted within his family and friends and can continue to watch us grow and bloom. We treasure you, We honor you and We love you.
