Emil Diewald Obituary

Emil Emanuel Diewald, 19 of St. Charles IL, died October 31st, 2022 in a car accident at Empire
Road near the intersection of Kings Wood Drive in Unincorporated Campton Township. Emil
was a graduate of Burlington Central High School. He was born September 20th 2003 in
Hinsdale IL, son of Dan Dewalt and Wendy Diewald.


Emil played soccer with the Tri City soccer team. He played baseball, he was on the Windings
Waves swim team for many years and was a boy scout as well. Emil was involved with Feed My
Starving Children.


Emil was a mischievous daredevil and loved doing tricks on his skateboard and scooter.
He was a great friend, brother, son, uncle, and cousin. He gave the best hugs and cuddles. He
was a gentleman and always put the people he loved first. Kylie Cox was his greatest love and
joy in life. When she broke her leg, he made sure she had everything she needed and showered
her with so much love. He had a great sense of humor and always made everyone laugh. He
was a great photographer. He always saw the beauty in life and nature and could capture any
moment perfectly. He was also an amazing writer and wrote some beautiful fantasy fiction
stories. He was a tinker and a builder and loved to help his dad at Daniel Craig Cabinetry and
loved to see how things worked. He had a great sense of style and music and had high energy.
He brought that energy with him wherever he would go. The Diewald house was the gathering
place for many of their friends.


Emil is survived by parents Dan Dewalt and Wendy Diewald. He was also survived by his sister
Miranda Maloney and her husband Travus Maloney and their two children Jerry (8) and Azalea
(2). He was also survived by his sister Emily Schell-Reinboldt and her husband Zak Schell and
their two children Zorin (8) and Xavier (14). He was also survived by his grandparents Kaaren
Van De Grift and Emil and Karen Diewald, uncles and aunts Gregory and Annie Copiskey, Amy
and Mark Vogel, Becky and Noel Sloan, Charles and Pamela Diewald, and Laurie and Robert
Richmond. He was preceded in death by Grandparents Alan Copiskey, and Barbara Diewald.

Celebration of life on November 11, 2022 at Lord of Life Church, 40W605 IL-38 Elburn, IL 60119
4-7 pm. Service will be held November 12, 2022 at 11am at Lord of life Church. Meal to follow
for family members after the service. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Lazarus house
(lazarushouse.net).
