Phillip Sakowski Obituary

Loving Son of Bernadette Bafia-Sakowski and Felix Sakowski, dear Brother of Rosanne and Leonora, Brother-In-Law of Eugene Parsill and Catherine Bucaro, and caring family member of many nieces and cousins.
Over 40 years a resident in Stickney, Illinois. Known and loved by all neighbors, mail carriers, police and community officials, delivery drivers, flower shop owners, medical caregivers, and grocery store staff. Phil greeted everyone with kind words and the Lord's Blessing.
In his early years, Phil served as a PFC in the US Marine Corps. Later, and for many years he gave his time as a volunteer at the Muscular Dystrophy Association summer camp, and went on to become a private caregiver for several of the MDA young men.
For many years Phil has been in the caring hands of the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Stickney Township North Clinic who all loved him dearly.
Phil enjoyed all Chicago sports and a great fan especially for his Cubs and Blackhawks. His wish every year was that the Cubs have a playoff game on his birthday, October 5th. His Cubbies winning the 2016 World Series was one of the highlights of his life!
Halloween was Phillip's favorite holiday and a highlight for him every year. He decorated the house and prepared the treats all month. Phil's generosity and love toward the kids was amazing!
Phil loved his music everyday, and his rock, country, gospel or christmas carols were sure to be playing. Phil also sang many church songs at home. He attended the mariachi serenade to Our Lady of Guadalupe on Her Feast Day every year, and he honored Her everyday.
Phillip was guided by Jesus in so many ways! He attended Mass often, especially with Mom during Lent. He read and quoted scripture and enjoyed many Bible stories. He brought flowers to Mom on every First Friday to honor Our Blessed Mother.
A beautiful heart, a generous soul, a Blessed life!
Dear Lord in Your Divine Mercy welcome Phillip into Your Kingdom. We will miss you every day our dear Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. Rest in Peace.
